Its about time Manchester United fans around the world have something to cheer about this new year, albeit the inconsistent season they have had so far. Well, thousands of fans across the world have called for the head of United's chief executive, Ed Woodward for not making premium signings at the club and the club is struggling to even make top four for the last couple of seasons.
In this regard, United have been forced into the market to improve the squad in key areas and a number of players have been identified and could be making their switch to the North West next week. These two players have been earmarked:
Bruno Fernandes:
Bruno Fernandes is a player United looked at last summer, but the deal scuppered at the dearth and instead Fernandes extended his contract with Sporting Lisbon. United are said to be looking at an offer of around £50million plus add-ons for the prolific 25-year-old Portugal international.
Despite being the subject of talks in London on Friday, Fernandes started Sporting's 3-1 win over Vitoria on Saturday night and scored twice.
Sporting president Frederico Varandas and sports director Hugo Viana travelled back to Portugal for Sporting's match against Vitoria after holding a meeting at United's offices in London on Friday. Fernandes will complete his move in the coming days.
Raul Jimenez:
The Red Devils are desperate to add more goals to their front-line, having opted not to replace Romelu Lukaku in the summer. And Jimenez has impressed United chiefs since his move to the Molineux, catching the eye with his impressive link-up play and eye for goal.
The 28-year-old netted 17 goals in his first season in England, and has already equalled that this term, bagging eight in the league and nine in the Europa League.
Sky Sports actually claim that the interest from Old Trafford is firm, but that a deal would be very difficult to conclude this month, with Wolves reluctant to sell. But all that would change if a big money bid is made and United plan to do that this week to strenghten their push for a top four finish.
Now, there is every reason for United fans to be excited about these transfers and we wish them all the best for the season.

Nigerian Reggae singer, Omeofa Oghene, known as “Mad Melon” from the popular Danfo Driver music group is dead.
Veteran singer and social activist, Daddy Showkey announced this via his Instagram page on Thursday, September 2019.
Daddy Showkey said, “Can somebody tell me that is not true that we just lost Mad Melon DANFO Driver pls”.
Mad Melon was part of the popular group ‘Danfo Driver’ which also had Mountain Black as a member.
Stevie Wonder at a concert in London on Saturday, announced that he will be taking a break from music to undergo a kidney transplant surgery.
According to the legendary singer - songwriter, the kidney transplant surgery will be taking place in September 2019, and he already has a donor.
"So what's gonna happen is this, I'm going to have surgery, I'm going to have a kidney transplant in September of this year. I'm all good, I'm all good, I'm all good. Sylvester Stallone is not dead. He wasn't dead in September 2016, either.
But that hasn't stopped a range of people telling everyone he is, and other people believing it.
The actor is just the latest celebrity to be hit by a "death hoax", where fake stories of their demise pass around the internet. Before the person knows it, they've been declared dead and mourned – despite being very much alive.
Why did people think Stallone was dead?
In short, because people were telling them so. A range of stories across the internet said that the actor had died, and that was then picked up by other people who were posted messages in remembrance.
It's not clear where the hoax originated from this time around. But people did a lot to further it: as well as fake stories, there were pictures that claimed to show Stallone in his final days, mocked up to make people believe the lie.
Hasn't this happened before?
Yes – to a huge number of celebrities. Including Stallone himself, who was also supposedly declared dead in September 2016.
Such hoaxes have been around for as long as the internet, and long before that. They tend to come and go – with some people being especially likely to become a victim of them, for whatever reason.
Why are there so many death hoaxes?
In short, because people want to read them. For obvious reasons: it would be big news if Sylvester Stallone died. The fact that he hasn't doesn't stop people.
It's also a good thing to fake: unlike many other claims, it's not possible to instantly debunk unless you are with the person at that moment. The Stallone hoax, for instance, kicked off overnight US time – which meant that he and his representatives were asleep, making it impossible to check whether it was true and so to debunk it.
That's why it took until the evening after it began for Stallone and his brother to get online and confirm that he was still alive.
There are of course a range of other kinds of common fake stories, and tropes that their writers rely on. But none of them has clung on with quite such immortality as the death hoax, for those two reasons and surely a whole host of others.
What do people get out of them?
As with many other things on the internet, it's about engaging people. The trouble is that these do so using something entirely false.
Once people are on the site, trying to read the news, pages can do what they want with them. The last hoax about Sylvester Stallone, for instance, seemed to emerge from a site that made everyone who came onto it take a survey – the results of that survey could then be sold on.
There are other people who of course share the story – either intentionally or by accident – without any clear incentive. This time around, the death hoax spread quickly on Instagram, for instance. Some people might choose to do so because they believe it to be real, while others might simply be interested in upsetting and lying to people.
